Frequently Asked Questions
What is AccessGP?
AccessGP is a private online GP service offering video and telephone consultations, blood tests, lifestyle assessments, and more — all from the comfort of your home.
Who can use AccessGP?
We currently provide services to individuals aged 18 and over in England.
Do you see children or young people?
At present, AccessGP services are available for adults aged 18 years and over. This is because children – especially infants and toddlers – often benefit from a face-to-face assessment to ensure the safest care.
Will you offer GP services for children in the future?
We know families would find this helpful, and we are actively exploring safe ways to extend our services to younger patients. Keep an eye on our website or follow us on social media for updates.
How much does a consultation cost?
Consultations start from just £55. This includes a thorough medical review and, if needed, follow up-advice and prescriptions issued (the cost of the medication and any pharmacy fee is not included).
Can I get a prescription?
Yes. Prescriptions can be sent directly to any UK pharmacy or delivered to your door. The cost of the prescription medication itself is not included in your consultation fee as this is paid to the pharmacy. We are not a pharmacy and we do not dispense medication ourselves.
How do blood tests work?
Choose a test online, and we’ll arrange a clinic visit or home phlebotomy visit with our trusted partners. Results are reviewed with you in a free GP consultation included in all packages.
See our Blood Testing page for further information.
Do you offer weight loss treatments?
Yes, we offer a weight loss service which is GP led and holistic with a lifestyle based approach. For utmost safety, a video consultation is required for weight loss treatments or prescribed injections. We will be available to follow up with your weight loss journey each month at your convenience. Be sure to book a video consultation if you wish to discuss weight loss treatments.
Can I request specific blood or stool tests?
Absolutely. We work with accredited labs to be able to refer for specific tests. For a bespoke test, this should be discussed in a GP consultation. Book here and discuss with a GP today!
Do you treat all conditions?
We only treat conditions suitable for remote consultation. There are certain conditions we cannot treat, see here.
In an emergency, call 999 or go to your closest Emergency Department.
Are your GPs UK licensed?
Yes. All our GPs are GMC-registered and UK-trained, with broad experience and understanding in general practice and specialist areas.
Is my information secure?
Absolutely. We follow GDPR and NHS data standards to protect your medical information.
